Cleaning crew finds threatening letter on an US plane

Charlotte, Jan 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A threatening letter was found by the cleaning crew on an US Airways jet. According to a report from the AP news service, “authorities say a cleaning crew found a threatening letter on a parked US Airways aircraft at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, hours after it had arrived from Charlotte.”

The actual contents of the letter were not revealed to the media by the authorities. But the Airport spokesman Greg Meyer said that the letter spoke something about damaging the plane, but he also could not divulge its exact message. After the threatening letter was found, the police left no stone unturned to check the plane. They used sniffer dogs to check the plane, but no explosives or other harmful materials were found on the plane.

The Transportation Security Administration says that the plane was cleared and later returned to Charlotte as per its schedule. As it is, the bombing attempt in Detroit Airport on Christmas had frightened people and the security officials of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, did not want to take any risk with the people’s lives. Besides this the Nigerian terrorist in custody had also warned the US officials that there were more potential hijackers like him and when the cleaning crew found the letter then the security people became more serious about the whole case.
