MURDER TRIAL TO BEGIN MONDAY IN WALKER COUNTY

Jury selection in the murder trial involving a former Lafayette, Georgia police officer was completed on Wednesday morning in Bartow County  Sam Parkers trial set to begin, on Monday, in Walker County Superior Court in Lafayette.

The Bartow County jury wont be sequestered during the trial, but will instead be bused back and forth each day.

Parker is charged with murdering his wife, 9-1-1 Dispatcher Theresa Parker, in March of 2007.

Judge Bo Wood recently ruled that testimony from two sheriffs deputies will be allowed, however, testimony from the handlers of cadaver dogs involved in the investigation will not be allowed.

The deputies conducted a welfare check at the couples home after some of her 9-1-1 co-workers expressed concern for the safety of Ms. Parker  she and her husband were going through a divorce at the time.

Theresa Parkers body has never been found.
